Anita Nair is the best selling author of the novels The Better Man, Ladies Coupe and Mistress. Her new book is Goodnight & God Bless, a collection of literary essays. She has also written four books for children and has published a book of poetry. Her books have been translated into 29 languages around the world. Mistress was on the 2008 Orange Prize long list in the UK. Mistress has also been named a finalist for the 2007 PEN/Beyond Margins Award in the U.S.A. and for the LiBeraturpreis 2007 in Germany. Most recently Anita Nair was also awarded the FLO FICCI Women Achievers Awards 2008 for Literature. Anita Nair also writes extensively for several Indian publications and is a columnist in Mid Day.
