Edmund O'Sullivan

Edmund O'SullivanEdmund O'Sullivan is chairman of MEED Events, the conference division of the UK's MEED Group.

After graduating from the LSE, he worked in Reuters Economic Services as a government economist before joining MEED in 1979 as a specialist writer on energy and finance. He travelled extensively across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, reporting on developments in Arabia during the second oil boom and the subsequent oil bust of 1986 and its aftermath.

As editor of MEED, he continued his travels across the region and reported on economic and political developments in every Middle East country - including Baghdad during the Iran-Iraq war. In 1996 he was appointed MEED publisher and in 2003 named Business Publisher of the Year by the PPA. He is now based in Dubai, chairs MEED conferences and writes 'The Last Word', a weekly opinion piece.
