Jessie Parker, first came to the United Arab Emirates in the 1970s. Thirty years as a trained chef, food writer, designer and stylist have given her a special insight into Middle Eastern customs and traditions. As contributing food editor for Dubai’s Gulf News, Jessie launched the food pages of the Friday magazine. She also organised the amateur Great Chefs/Super Cook competition, which ran from 1994-2002, promoting awareness of great food in Dubai. A Taste of Arabia, a chronicle of her time in the Middle East, is filled with delicious recipes for celebrations and feast days, supported by luscious photography.
