Shakir Noori is an Iraqi author and journalist currently resident in Dubai. Educated at Baghdad University, l’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Science Sociales and the Sorbonne, Shakir was resident in Paris from 1977 to 2004, as a student and journalist. Since moving to Dubai, he has worked for Alrajol Alyaum Magazine, Emirates Alyaum and Alalam Newspapers, and currently works as Editor for the Culture supplement of Albayan Newspaper.

His novels include Spider’s Window (2000), Death’s Caprice (2004), Deyalas (2007) and Dogs of Gilgamesh (2008).
